It's probably not new. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'm just late on this but you'll forgive right? Because I'm still a fledgling SLer.

Anywhoozle, check out this 'dirty neko couch' from Urban Spirit and my little bonsai tree! Yes, both are free. The couch is the coolest because it comes with a can of pop, a box for a footstool, AND AND AND your very own lice! Haha jk about the lice. But I'm really into this dirty Victorian look going on. So divorc-ay...

So I'll paint the scene. Burt was having some issues. He couldn't get high enough on a plane. So I invited him over to my apartment. Snuck him real gangsta like because I was listening to Geto Boys and didn't want to wake the neighbors. So we sat down on my flea infested couch, got some pop and smoked this shit right quick.

When I wake up, and I see the darkness around me, I look at my closed blinds and think, is it really morning? Maybe it's just the apocalypse. And then I roll over.

I haven't been very active on here lately. I haven't really been on SL too much as of late but hopefully that will change. I want it to. I like my friends and I like doing things. I just have things in RL that are wearing me down. I'm a Whitney Houston...only without Bobby Brown and crack (which is really her only two problems according to the media).

So I promise to be more active, to write more, and to do more, to post all the crazy things I find and to be a better SL friend and citizen. Without further ado, here is something I found on the Internets (well I've been going to www.asofterworld.com for a while):

Lately, I have been hanging out at some different clubs. The Rooftop (Club and gallery!) with Savascha Navarita and Red Verwood is always my favorite, but lately I've been exploring Seven Ultra Lounge (check out their blog here). I really like their Underground with Mandra Moody and the club's owner, Bianca Darling. She is very nice and hot, of course!

This Sunday, there was a charity auction for the fires in Australia, Date for Down Under, put on by Winter Jefferson. It was pretty amazing. Of course, it was packed!! There were plenty of well known stars about who were up for auction. I won two! Catero Revolution and Newdoll Nikolaidis! Hopefully we raised a lot of funds for the cause. I like to think I put in a good *bit* haha. Anyway, so here are some pictures from The Underground andddd of course, the date with Catero Revolution!

Cat is super nice. We went for a drive. I crashed a few times and then managed to shoot us over a water canal and teetering over the ledge of an island. He was a good sport about it though. Then we went to Straylight Run, did some fishing, and I clumsily fell in the water a total of not less than 6 times, and caught a couple fish. I named one Catty Darling. Anyway, then it was time for dancing (meanwhile me and Cat are discussing art and romantical stuff in im), anddd so we went to Bogart's Jazz Club. I wore a dress made for buttsecks! (his words not mine!) Then we had some real fun with a couple monkeys. We ended the night with a sperm fight at his friends place! No literally we had sperm guns and everything. *STOMPS* I should have taken a picture!

So I was looking around some place. I don't even know where I was looking and I found this interesting link to a gallery called Arthole (SLURL: HERE). It's pretty interesting. It's run by Nekka Raymaker, Arahan Claveau and Nebulosus Severine. Mostly the art is just making light of subliminal messaging. There are two exhibits: XXX Private Show and Church of Whoami. You can fly around and mess with light settings and it's just a fun little spot to explore and also take pictures. What I really liked about this place was that it's just really interesting and creative. The sound can get a bit creepy but I think that's the point. It got less creepy when I was wandering around with friends, but going by yourself is also a treat. For me, I like the idea of a photoshoot in the padded sex room. I think like many artists, Arahan and Nebulosus really want you to think through the funniness of the creepiness. The fucking bunnies for instance are really insane and when paired with the grunting, hoarse sounds of a man and chickens, it's kind of hard not be like, is this really serious? But you think about it, and you find your own meanings to place onto the builds. In that way, it was just really cool to walk around and think about things, have fun with the different elements that each artist is putting into the builds.

This magazine sort of inspired this blog, and when I mean sort of, I actually mean totally inspired this blog. I found this magazine during my experimental filmmaking class, when we had to buy a copy and seek out some notes that we found to be really essential to our projects, and because it was all about found footage, working with 16 millimeter and splicing together old films to create something new and different. Anyway, so FOUND MAG...

It's really worth it. You'll spend weeks looking at it and just going back to reread some of the notes. Some are funny, some are inspirational, and some are just strange. Here are a few from the website that I personally enjoy (kicks scanner or else I would have posted from my own collection):

Found Magazine is all about just finding stuff on the street, people send things in, things are found in library books, in the trash, on windshield wipers, on receipts, on money, anything really. It just has to be FOUND.

Okay, I saw this guy on Comedy Central Presents. He's crazy. Insane. Weird, but not creepy weird, just weird, in a good way, a hot way sorta, if I didn't think that he would make my face hurt--from laughing. Okay. Anyway, here's his website. alright, chitluns. this was by far a pretty awesome place. i've been to some of the "hotspot" pretty places on sl, the botanical gardens, the gardens of apollo, and some beaches, but i wanted the opposite: give me spooky and macabre. that's what i wanted, and that's what i got with:
The Bentham Manor's Haunted Mansion

now it's got all the cheesiness that i love. i mean the ghosts float around, there's creepy sounds, there's the little statue of a demonic alice, and a hangman photo op. this just makes it that much better, because...it's just really fun and of course, there's lots of things to click on and get killed by (unexpected death is always a crowd pleaser). my friend was obviously pretty shocked after accepting my dare and clicking the "do not click this." muahhaha XD

anyway, the house just gets better on the inside. we had a tarot card reading that was pretty creepy and realistic and gave me the chills, but nothing compares to the secret clown room upstairs. i wouldn't step two feet inside of it. complete with art of horror plastered on the walls and a free flashlight for midnight settings, the bentham manor is just plain awesome.

i was playing a little retro playstation 2 game called crash bandicoot, cortex something or other, and it reminded me of dinosaurs once my little furry friend was being chased by one while trying to pick up his fruit and avoid the tnt boxes, and try not to instantly combust from nitro boxes. (crash bandicoot is a complicated game that involves an evil scientist and a fox in surf dude boardshorts). anyway, i realized that i hadn't been keeping up with my qwantz dinosaur reel lately.

let's face it. 2008...not so great. not that i didn't mind going into an economic recession or watching john mccain's impression of a man who knows what he's doing, or how completely jacked that dumb rabbits video game is on (am i addicted? yes. yes, i am.) anyway, there was a lot of great moments too. first black president being top of the list. second probably being michael phelps. third being tina fey's sarah palin act.

i'm always on failblog.org, because i don't know, watching people/things/animals fail at life is sometimes amazing and reminds me that if i'm not falling flat on my face, i'm doing something right.

alright, slians,

so i went looking for art today, specifically pop art. if you don't know much about it, this kind of stuff was popular in the 80s, an andy warhol thing. it's basically all about bright colors in contrastng color schemes, jokey humor, making fun of the serious and just "popping" out at you. it's still pretty popular today, and this style reminds me a lot of jason sho green with its comic strip nature.

anyway, i searched warhol, but then decided to be less specific, just pop art. and that's when i found a gem, The Ornaglyph Gallery, located in Healy that has a bunch of other art galleries (which i plan on blogging about at a later period XD).

the second life ornaglyph gallery is only the beginning for mindy fisher. visit her website, ornaglyphology.com for her latest works, information, and YES, an etsy store, thereby bringing her fabulous fun artwork into your home. you can buy ornaglyph paintings for around 100L on second life and the real thing at Mindy's etsy store for $100, which i think is definitely worth it. they're interesting pieces of art that just captivate me until i'm smiling and bewildered. it's a good thing. go go go!

hello, and welcome to a gathering. that's right, a gathering. i'll play magellan in this piece, and what am i exploring? well anything interesting, no beyond interesting, phenomenal. my time on sl is short, but i'm expanding. this is my attempt at expansion. i'm pretty sure that some of the things on this blog will disturb you, but keep an open mind. i do, and it's helped me out very well in learning about the slverse.

i'm an artist first, a writer second, and music is the thread that binds me together. my real life is as spontaneous as second life, only i may never get to go to middle earth or botanical gardens quite like the ones i've found here.

and that's what this blog is all about. it's about finding things, most of the time on second life, but i'll be finding other things. art, music, books, videos. you can expect to see all of this here. i'll be using sendspace and my blip.fm to bring you music. art will probably come mostly from exploring galleries around second life. book reviews will probably be less frequent but i do plan on bringing that into the mix (feel free to suggest reads, i like science fiction, mystery, horror, essays, graphic novels/comic books, and post modernism reads XD), and videos will come from wherever i find them, probably hiding out on youtube.

in any case, this is way too long. it's time to start the exploration.
